Speaking on talkSPORT, former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes that Everton caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson got one part of the substitution of Moise Kean completely wrong last weekend.
What did he say?
While the ex-England international didn’t necessarily disagree with the decision to take the Italian off just 18 minutes after he was initially introduced by the Scot, he wasn’t impressed with how he dealt with the situation once the 19-year-old had left the pitch.

“If you’ve got a personal problem you’re not a man manager. Who wants to be brought on & brought off? If you say something at least I know.”
Heskey is right
There is no doubt that Ferguson has got a lot of things right during his short spell at the helm having taken four points against Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League, as well as seeing his side fight back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Leicester in the Carabao Cup.
His 4-4-2 formation appears to better suit a number of the Toffees players based on recent showings, and he must take the credit for implementing that following Marco Silva’s departure.
However, he should have some regrets about how he dealt with a young player in Kean on Sunday.

Grabbing him and either embracing him or giving him a quick explanation as to why he had been taken off would have sufficed, but instead there was nothing and the former Juventus youngster trudged down the touchline at Old Trafford and back into the changing room.
He didn’t look too affected as he put in a good second-half performance against the Foxes in midweek having been brought on at half-time though – a display which drew encouragement from the Goodison faithful on Twitter – and he will hope to finally make his mark in a blue shirt under Carlo Ancelotti.
